Celebrate Christmas & New Year’s with Glenn’s Cafe

Treat Yourself to Elevated Holiday Dinners from the Chefs at Glenn's Cafe

This holiday season, take a little stress off your plate and dine at Glenn’s Cafe. The historic restaurant in downtown Columbia puts on annual Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve dinners, and this year is no exception! In fact, thanks to a new Executive Chef and an elevated menu, this year will be even better than before.

Glenn’s Cafe is a beloved and historically significant restaurant in Columbia, MO dating back to 1939 when it started as a small gas station diner. Since then, it has evolved into an upscale-casual dining destination serving Cajun-Creole and American-style dishes. It’s been frequented by Columbia locals, college students and alumni, and even stars like Brad Pitt, who worked at Glenn’s Cafe during his time studying at the University of Missouri School of Journalism! In addition to being a recognized local favorite, the approachable, yet classy atmosphere makes Glenn’s the ideal place to enjoy holiday meals.

In fact, it was on the Fourth of July in 2017 when Chef Sam Sawyer first dined at Glenn’s Cafe with his wife. In 2020, just three years later, he joined the Glenn's team as the new Executive Chef. Sam has already left his mark by elevating the food and beverage program, adding his flair to the dinner and wine series, creating a full dessert menu, putting emphasis on making meals from scratch and enhancing plate presentation.

Sam will get to flex his creativity with innovative dishes during the holiday season, which will feature a special Christmas Day menu and a New Year’s Eve meal modeled after Glenn’s beloved dinner and wine series. Keep reading to learn what’s on the menu for this year’s socially-distanced festivities.
